Inventory & WMS module Coming soon — on the roadmap

Inventory software that knows exactly where everything is

Fidar Inventory & WMS tracks stock across warehouses down to rack and shelf, traces every lot and serial forwards and backwards, and updates inventory value with every movement. The module is on the roadmap.

On the roadmap · designed for manufacturing, distribution and pharma warehouses

This module is in development. What you read on this page is our design and plan for this module, not something you can use today. We publish its schedule and status on the roadmap.

Problem and solution

A warehouse run on paper stock cards or spreadsheets

Count differences, expired goods, sudden stock-outs and no idea what inventory is really worth — the result of a warehouse disconnected from sales, purchasing and accounting.

Problem

System stock doesn’t match reality

Every count shows a big difference and nobody knows where it came from.

In Fidar (in development)

Every movement is a document, and periodic and cycle counts show differences with a reason and an adjustment entry.

Problem

Dated goods go to waste

New stock ships first and old stock expires on the shelf.

In Fidar (in development)

Expiry dates on every lot, FEFO picking (first-expired, first-out) and alerts before expiry.

Problem

Stock-outs are discovered too late

You find out you’re out when the customer order arrives.

In Fidar (in development)

Reorder points per item and warehouse that generate purchase or manufacturing proposals.

Problem

Product recalls are impossible

If a raw-material lot is faulty, you don’t know which customers received it.

In Fidar (in development)

Full lot and serial genealogy from supplier to end customer, forwards and backwards.

Initial count and item coding

Before rollout, clean up item codes: one code per item, with a base unit and alternate units. Duplicate items under different names are the biggest source of stock differences.

Load opening stock from a full physical count, not from the old system. It is the one chance for system and reality to start from the same point.

After go-live, replace the annual full count with cycle counting: part of the items each week, with more attention on high-value items. Differences are found sooner and are smaller.

Define warehouse locations and label the racks before loading stock. Stock without a location is effectively lost, even if the system shows the right quantity.

For dated goods, record expiry on every lot from day one and let FEFO drive picking. Entry takes seconds; expired stock or an incomplete recall costs far more.

Agree on who may create new items. When every storekeeper and buyer can add products freely, duplicates appear within weeks. A short approval step for new item codes keeps the catalogue clean, and the duplicate-detection report catches anything that slips through.

Integration

Inventory connected to sales, purchasing and accounting

In Fidar’s design, confirming a sales order reserves stock, a goods receipt increases it, and every movement creates its financial entry in the same transaction — so stock and books always agree.

Fidar inventory software FAQ

When will Inventory be released?

Inventory & barcode are on the roadmap after Accounting and alongside Purchasing, because perpetual valuation depends on the posting engine.

Which valuation methods are supported?

FIFO, weighted average and standard cost, selectable per product group.

How is WMS different from basic inventory?

Basic inventory tracks quantity per warehouse; a WMS manages exact locations down to rack and shelf, put-away and picking strategies and scanner work. More in what is a WMS.

Is it suitable for dated goods?

Yes. Expiry dates are recorded per lot, FEFO picking is suggested and alerts arrive before expiry.

Can I run warehouses in different cities?

Yes. Multi-warehouse operation and inter-warehouse transfers are part of the base design, and each storekeeper sees only their own warehouse.

What should I do until it ships?

Set up CRM and Contacts. When Inventory is active, import products with the Excel wizard and they connect to the same customers and deals.

Be first in line when Inventory ships

Meanwhile, start with CRM and reporting — your data connects to Inventory without migration.
