Industry solution

ERP for manufacturing, from customer order to shop floor

Manufacturers suffer more than anyone from data silos: sales promises delivery dates, planning can’t see stock and finance calculates product cost months later. Fidar puts these links on one dataset — today with CRM and reporting, soon with inventory, production and MES.

Challenges

Common pains in manufacturing companies

  • Late deliveries

Sales commits to dates without seeing capacity or material stock, so the production plan keeps changing.

  • Material shortages mid-run

One cheap component stops the whole line because its requirement wasn’t seen in time.

  • Guesswork product costs

Prices based on old estimates while actual consumption and scrap go unrecorded.

  • Unknown machine efficiency

Short stops and scrap causes appear in no report and OEE is never calculated.

One chain

From lead to finished goods, on one dataset

In Fidar each document is created from the previous one: deal to order, order to material requirements and work orders, work order to finished-goods receipt and cost entry.

So when a customer asks “where is my order?”, the answer is in the system: which materials are reserved, which work centre the order is at and when it will ship.

  1. 1Deal and orderCRM is available today; Sales is on the roadmap.
  2. 2Material planning (MRP)Requirements across all BOM levels with buy and make proposals.
  3. 3Work orders and shop floorMaterial use, work-centre time and scrap.
  4. 4Quality and OEEStatistical process control and live machine efficiency.
  5. 5Product costActual vs standard, with automatic entries.

Advanced industrial capabilities

What makes Fidar different for industry

These capabilities are part of Fidar’s design for factories and ship after the core manufacturing modules.

  • On the roadmap

    MES and operator panel

Start and stop operations, log stop reasons and show work instructions on a touch panel.

  • On the roadmap

    IoT and machine connectivity

Data from PLCs and sensors over OPC UA and MQTT; automatic output counts.

  • On the roadmap

    SPC and quality

Control charts, Cp and Cpk and automatic certificates of analysis per batch.

  • On the roadmap

    Advanced planning (APS)

Finite-capacity scheduling and “what if order X becomes urgent?” simulation.

  • On the roadmap

    Predictive maintenance

PM plans by time, usage or sensor data; MTBF and MTTR.

  • On the roadmap

    Full batch genealogy

From supplier material to end customer, for recalls in seconds.

Getting started

Where manufacturers start today

  1. 1

    CRM and customer orders

Manage industrial leads and deals in a transparent pipeline.

  2. 2

    Management dashboards

Build sales and follow-up reports with the report builder.

  3. 3

    Access structure

Define plants, branches and departments as org scopes.

  4. 4

    Manufacturing pilot

Use “Notify me” to volunteer for the manufacturing and MES pilot.

ERP for manufacturing FAQ

When will Fidar’s manufacturing modules be ready?

Manufacturing & MRP is on the roadmap after Accounting, Purchasing and Inventory, with MES, OEE and IoT after that. We publish the status of each there.

Is it suitable for process industries?

Yes. Formulas, dual units, co-products and batch tracing are part of the manufacturing design. See also food & pharma.

What is OEE and why does it matter?

OEE shows what share of a machine’s planned time actually produced good product. Our guide to ERP for manufacturing walks through the calculation.

Can I install Fidar on the plant’s own servers?

Yes. The on-premise edition is the same product and can run on the internal network, even without internet.

Put your plant forward for the pilot

We work with a handful of manufacturers before release so the manufacturing modules fit the real shop floor.
