Fidar or Odoo? A fair comparison to help you decide

Odoo is one of the best-known modular ERPs in the world and inspired parts of Fidar’s architecture. We wrote this page so you can see the differences honestly — including where Odoo is ahead today.

Summary

The short answer

If you need a complete module set today — accounting, inventory, manufacturing, website and more — Odoo is more mature. If Persian, the Jalali calendar, Iranian requirements and fine-grained access control matter to you at the core, and you are happy to start with the base modules, look at Fidar.

Odoo has been developed since 2005 (as TinyERP, then OpenERP) and has a large partner network and add-on ecosystem. Fidar is a young product whose first release covers CRM, reporting and access control, with the other modules on the roadmap.

Decision guide

Which fits you better?

  • Fidar fits if…

your main problem today is sales, customers and reporting; Persian and the Jalali calendar are essential; you need fine-grained access and audit trails; or data must stay on your own servers.

  • Odoo fits if…

you need integrated accounting, inventory and manufacturing right now; you have a technical team or implementation partner for localization; or you rely on specialised apps from its large ecosystem.

  • A combined path

Some organisations start with Fidar CRM and wait for the financial modules on the roadmap. Because data sits on the shared core, no migration is needed later.

Odoo alternative FAQ

Is Fidar a Persian version of Odoo?

No. Fidar is an independent product with its own code and architecture. We were inspired by Odoo’s modular approach but use none of its code.

Can I move data from Odoo to Fidar?

You can move contacts and leads via Excel or CSV export from Odoo and Fidar’s import wizard. For more data, we plan the migration together in a demo session.

Is Fidar open source?

No. Fidar is commercial software, but the on-premise edition runs on your own servers and your data is entirely yours.
